Antoinette R. McGarrahan, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who specializes in forensic psychology and neuropsychology and maintains an independent practice in Dallas, Texas.  She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her primary duties involve conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluations of criminal defendants and civil litigants, testifying in court, and providing consultation to attorneys.  In addition, Dr. McGarrahan is trained and experienced in performing violence and sexual violence risk assessments.  Dr. McGarrahan serves as assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where she co-teaches a forensic psychology course and supervises students in the doctoral psychology program.  She is also involved in recently initiated research investigating cognitive and emotional functioning in police officers as it relates to their job performance in the field.
